Graduating high school students can earn 3 first year studies credits at Alberta College of Art and Design through one month intensive study during July of 2009.
This program can help students to successfully transition to post-secondary learning and can lighten their first year workload. All students will have many opportunities to create works suitable for their admission portfolios under experience guidance by ACAD faculty members.

Approximately 450 students from across the country selected to participate in this event each year. The “Forum experience” brings students to Ottawa for an intensive academic adventure that immerses them in the exciting world of national politics and public affairs.

Shad Valley
Shad Valley is a month-long, university host science, technology and innovation enrichment experience for grade 10, 11 and 12 students (15 to 18 years of age). Successful applicants come to Shad Valley from June 28 to July 24, 2009 to work with others who share the same drive for achievement and the same desire to make a difference. Key components of the program are academics and a business project where the students are challenged to bring a new science and engineering based invention to market. Students will also participate in challenging recreational activities such as hiking, camping, etc.
To help offset the cost of attending this program, Shad Valley provides bursaries for those who need financial assistance.

Lakeland College - financial incentives
- Students attending an open house or booking a campus tour at Lakeland are eligible for the tour incentive program. Student living more than 100km away from campus will receive atuition credit based on kilometres traveled up to a maximum of 1500 km. A tuition credit for meals is also provided.
- Deadline April 30 - If you apply to Lakeland College and submit your Grade 11 marks and you have an average of 85% or higher, you'll recieve will be eligible for an academic excellence scholarship ($1500 for 85% minimum; $2500 for 90% minimum; $3500 for 95% minimum.
