The SaskTel Aboriginal Youth Awards of Excellence recognize youth achievement in 10 categories.
You can nominate any youth or group if they are:
  • Of Aboriginal ancestry
  • Between 14 and 18 years of age by May 22, 2015
  • A resident of Saskatchewan
  • Able to demonstrate outstanding commitment and/or ability in one of the 10 award categories

MC College Scholarship/Open House

 MC College is an accredited institution across western Canada with 7 campuses in total offering Hairstyling and Esthetics programs.  The purpose of their scholarship is to encourage creative young individuals interested in pursuing a career in the Salon or Spa Industry.

On behalf of Saskatchewan Credit Unions, CRI Canada awards 2 Learning Grants in the amounts of $1000 to eligible students for full-time study at a qualifying Canadian college or university.

17th Annual Skills Canada Provincial Competition

April 16-17, 2015

Sask Polytechnic Moose Jaw, Saskatoon and Regina Campuses; A.E. Peacock Collegiate and Central Collegiate in Moose Jaw

This competition is to bring together high school, post-secondary students, apprentices and other training program young people, to showcase each person's skills and knowledge in the skilled trades and technologies in our province. 
There are two competition categories – secondary (high school students) and post-secondary (SIAST students, apprentices and other training facility students).
The competition provides a venue for youth in our province to compete against other Saskatchewan youth at a skilled trade or technology that they have been working on during the year.

National Union of Public and General Employees Scholarships

Deadline: July 6, 2015
Amount: $1500 each

This union is offering FOUR scholarships to students who plan to enter the first year of a public, post-secondary educational institution full-time in 2015-16 and who are children/grandchildren or foster children/grandchildren of a National Union member.

The scholarships are:


  1. Tommy Douglas Scholarship - winner will be determined on the basis of a 750-100 word essay 
  2. Terry Fox scholarship - winner will be determined on the basis of a 750-100 word essay 
  3. Scholarship for Visible Minorities - winner will be determined on the basis of a 750-100 word essay 
  4. Scholarship for Aboriginal Canadians - winner will be determined on the basis of a 750-100 word essay

UBC Summer Scholars Program

The University of British Columbia is thrilled to announce the Summer Scholars Program is now open to high school applicants for summer 2015.
Students will spend two weeks this July engaged in hands-on research and learning with UBC professors at the beautiful Okanagan campus - a total university experience. 

Two exciting courses to choose from

Environmental Sciences, in which students tackle the hot topic of sustainability, and explore it through field research in lab and natural surroundings of the Okanagan valley. 
New this year! Applied Science, in which students are introduced to the design process through applied engineering projects, and explore topics ranging from robotics technology to 3D printing.

How will your students benefit from the program?

They'll be connected to ideas and people that have global influence and get a taste of a world-class university-level education.
The Summer Scholars Program is a non-credit course that will give students a solid foundation in environmental or applied sciences. They will:
  • Complete a final study project, perfect for any college application
  • Live on campus and be mentored by current UBC students 
  • Explore the city of Kelowna, a top tourist destination in BC
  • Meet and make friends from all over the world [video] - more than 70 students from 27 countries have participated so far

Who is eligible?

Students must be:
  • Between 16 and 18 years of age; 
  • Entering one of their final two years of high school;
  • In good academic standing (unofficial transcript required); and
  • Be able to undertake studies in English at a university level

Saskatchewan Pulse Growers Scholarships

Undergraduate Scholarships Available for First-Year Students Enrolled in a Saskatchewan-Based Post-Secondary Program
 
Deadline: May 8, 2015

ISaskatchewan Pulse Growers (SPG) will be giving out five, $5,000 scholarships again in 2015. To be eligible for a scholarship, students must complete Grade 12 this year and go on to attend a Saskatchewan-based post-secondary program full-time this fall, in a program associated with the agriculture industry.

RE/MAX of Western Canada Quest for Excellence bursary program.

This year RE/MAX is once again offering (16) $1,000 bursaries for a total of $16,000 to grade 12 students.

This program was established by RE/MAX of Western Canada to recognize the success and ongoing pursuits of Western Canadian students in regards to leadership and community contribution initiatives. Students can enter online at www.remax.ca > about RE/MAX > In the Community > Quest for Excellence.

Admission Workshops: University of Regina

March 10th - Admission on the Spot
Due to the great success of our Admission on the Spot events we have decided to host another one on March 10th. For all of your students who have waited and are starting to worry about their applications, please let them know not to worry and if they come out to this event we will take care of them. All students need to do is show up on campus with a School Certified Transcript and the $100 application fee. We will be able to help them fill out their applications, calculate their admission average, and if admissible admit them into their faculty of choice. (Due to the competitive nature of Education and Nursing, we are not able to admit students into these faculties on this day)
Entrance 2015 Scholarship Application Workshops
Do your students want to apply for awards but do not know where to start? These workshops will walk them through the application process, and provide helpful tips on searching for awards and filling out their application. All sessions will last approximately 2 hours.

Feb. 15 is the deadline to submit the online application and application fee to be considered for admission to:
Mar. 1 is the last day for entering students (who applied for admission by Feb. 15) to submit the online application and all supporting documents for Competitive Entrance Awards, as well as any documents required for admission.

For Business, Engineering and Kinesiology applicants, Mar. 1 is the deadline to submit transcripts and other admission documents.
