ShadValley

Shad Valley is a four week summer enrichment experience for students in grades 10, 11, and 12. Shad Valley offers an ambitious curriculum of academics, collaborative projects, and physical/recreational activities. Students pursue existing interests and develop new ones and learn how to access information critically.

Students have the chance to experience campus life in a residence a top Canadian university; build their network with top students and faculty from across Canada; test their limits and gain an advantage for their university applications and resume.

SIAST/U of R Transfer Credit Agreement

The Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Regina has approved transfer credit agreements for students who will graduate from the following SIAST programs
-Business Accountancy Diploma
-Business Administration Diploma
-Business Financial Services Specialty Diploma
-Business Human Resources Diploma
-Business Information Systems Diploma
-Business Marketing DiplomaP-Business CerAtificate

Students who graduate from the above Palliser campus programs with a minimum GPA of 65% will be admissible to the Bachelor of Business Administration Qualifying Program at the University of Regina using their SIAST program as the basis for admission.

Concordia University Entrance Program

April 1 - deadline for students to apply to Concordia and be eligible for the renewable entrance scholarship program (up to $3750 annually) and the President's Leadership Scholarship (worth $30 000), as well as transfer student and in-course scholarships.

Concordia University if an accredited liberal arts institution located in Edmonton, AB, offering degrees in Arts, Education, Environmental Health, Management and Science.

University of Lethbridge Entrance Scholarships

December 15 - High school students who apply to the University of Lethbridge by this date are eligible for Early Entrance Awards, High School Entrance Awards and Board of Governor's Admission and Location Awards. Maclean's OnCampus Virtual Career Fair

November 12 - Maclean's Magazine will be hosting their annual virtual career fair. This will allow students to visit college and university campuses throughout the country. Canadian colleges and universities will be represented in a virtual convention hall, each with its own booth. Information on admissions, scholarships, and financial aid will be available. Students can talk directly with school representatives and have their questions answered in real time.

The fair is live from 6 am to 9 pm. Registration is free. Students, parents, teachers and administrators can register at www.macleans.ca/oncampusfiar. Students will also have the opportunity to win $5000 just for registering.

The fair will also feature a speaker series entitled "You Never Know Where an Education Can Take You."

If you miss the fair, it will still be available on demand, 24 hours a day until mid-February 2010.

House of Commons Page Program 2010-2011

Closing Date: December 7, 2009

The House of Commons is now accepting applications for the Page Program. Each year 40 students are selected from high schools across Canada to come to Ottawa and work as pages in the House of Commons. Those hired work on a part-time basis during their first year of study at one of the universities in the National Capital Region.

Grade 12 students and their school advisors are invited to attend this event, held by the College of Engineering, U. of Saskatchewan; Faculty of Applied Science, U of Regina and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan.

Each event consists of presentations give by practicing professional engineers,university professors and administrators and university students with the objective of providing an accurate overview of what engineering is, what engineers do and the educational opportunities within Saskatchewan.

New Faculty of Nursing, U of R

Through a partnership with SIAST, the U of R will be offering a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree that will have its first intake of students for Fall 2011. Thus, current grade 11's will be able to apply into the program.

UR Guarantee Program

Starting in the fall of 2010, any student who enrols at the U of Regina and actively participates in the UR Guarantee program will be guaranteed a job within six months of their graduation. If they don't find a job within six months, the U of R will provide the student with a bursary covering up to one year's tuition. Click on the title link to find out more about this program.

Lakeland Academic Excellence Scholarships

Deadline May 1, 2010 - Grade 12 students who have Grade 11 averages of 85% and over who apply to Lakeland College are automatically awarded an Academic Excellence Scholarship for the fall of 2010 in the following amounts

85% - $1500
90% - $2500
95% - $3500
