RMC ALOY Program

This is a great for Aboriginal students who are interested in a transition year into the military.  Careers in the Military may be the option for some students. 

ALOY - Aboriginal Leadership Opportunity Year

This program is meant for students who are interested in become a Commissioned Officer in the military.

Aboriginal students are invited to our Aboriginal Student Discovery Day, held Friday, March 18, 2016.  
This full day event will provide students with a chance to see what the University of Alberta has to offer for Aboriginal Students and provide them with an opportunity to engage with staff and students.

Updates from UBC

January 31: UBC's application deadline

We have already received over 18,000 applications to UBC, and the deadline is fast approaching.
Encourage your students who wish to be considered for 2016/17 admission to complete and submit their online application – including the Personal Profile – by 11:59 pm PST on January 31.
In addition, qualified students with significant financial need can apply for the UBC Centennial Scholars Entrance Award by February 1.

Applying to Engineering without Physics 12

Students who have not taken Physics 12 are still encouraged to apply to Engineering if they are academically strong in Chemistry 12 and Pre-Calculus 12 (or equivalent).
Students from schools where Physics 12 or Chemistry 12 are not available may also apply (email details to grades.canada@ubc.ca).
Outstanding applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and may be admitted despite the missing course.

Distributed Learning deadlines 

Students may use Distributed Learning courses:
  • completed by February 1 to calculate their competitive admission average (in time for self-reporting)
  • completed by June 30 to meet program-specific requirements

UBC's Bachelor + Master of Management dual degree

In the Bachelor + Master of Management dual degree program, ambitious and talented students combine their non-business undergraduate degree with a practical and career-oriented Master of Management – in just 4.5 years. We encourage you to tell your students about this innovative program.

The supplemental application (separate from UBC's online application) is simple, and requires students to submit a 90-second video essay.

Grade 11 University Preview at U of R

*NEW EVENT* Grade 11 University Preview! - February 19th
We are hosting an event specifically for grade 11 students! This will be a half-day event that includes a mock lecture, various hands-on activities (like interesting physics experiments, visual arts labs, etc.), and a session to help students understand University and what to expect if that's the path they choose! The day will be capped off with an all-ages tailgate party at the Owl, hosted by Alumni Relations including free pizza and pre-game activities before heading off to a rival U of R Cougars vs.  U of S Huskies basketball game. The day will be free of charge for students and registration is now open on our website!
**Space is limited and filling up fast! Get your students to register before January 30th to be entered for an Early Bird Prize!

North West Regional College Application Blitz

APPLICATION BLITZ
FEBRUARY 16TH & 17TH 2016
Apply for any post-secondary skills or trades program between the hours of 8:00am-4:30pm on Tuesday February 16th and Wednesday February 17th and your $35 Registration Fee will be waived!

Your complete application must be received during this time period. No exceptions.
If you are unable to register at one of our campuses, you may fax in your application to:

Once your application has been processed, you will be notified via mail or email of your conditional acceptance requirements. One of these requirements is a $200 tuition deposit. You may sort this funding out through sponsorship of your band, family, personal finance, bank funding etc. Once this tuition deposit has been paid, you will be eligible to win a $200 Book Store Credit to be used towards textbooks, additional resources or College Gear.

The Future is Yours Career Fair

The Career Fair is Saskatoon’s largest career fair targeted to Aboriginal youth and is 100% free for youth attendees. More than 700 Aboriginal youth from across Saskatchewan have participated annually in this well-known event. It has become a model for connecting with Aboriginal youth from all over Saskatchewan and provides leading companies and organizations the opportunity to make real face-to-face connections. We offer youth leadership and career development workshops, exhibitor and sponsor trade show booths, and a luncheon event with entertainment. For more information, click HERE.
