Masonic Bursaries - Various

August 7 Deadlines - The Masons in Saskatchewan offer various bursaries and scholarships for students entering post-secondary education, including:

  • Masonic Youth Trust Awards, which are offered annually to Saskatchewan High School graduates who proceed to an institution ofher learning anywhere in Canada. Selection is based on academic achievement, leadership skills, community and school activities, special awards and need. Applicants must be registered for a full academic year.
  • Post Secondary Education Bursaries - for undergraduate students who are residents of Saskatchewan, based on financial need, academic acheivement, moral character, sportsmanship and leadership.
  • various other awards for relatives of members of Masonic groups.

Monsanto Canada Opportunity Scholarship

The Monsanto Canada Opportunity Scholarship Program is for Canadian high school students from family farms who have successfully enrolled at a Canadian educational institution (degree or diploma) in a first-year agricultural sciences or forestry program.

Bill Kehler Memorial Awards

The Edmonton Rodeo Cowboy's Benevevolent Fund and Northlands are once again offering this award. This is open to students who have completed grade 12 and are pursuing post-secondary education. Up to four awards of $2500 each will be awarded this fall and announced at the Canadian Finals Rodeo in November in Edmonton. Awards will be distributed to students with academic interests in broadcasting or agriculture. Individuals in professional rodeo will also be able to apply for an award to support their post-secondary studies.

Program Highlight - Olds College

Olds College offers an Agriculture Business Diploma Program with majors in agricultural marketing and sales; agricultual entrepreneurship and rural small business; or finance.

Norquest College - Program Highlights

Norquest now offers a one-year certificate and a two-year diploma program in Theraputic Recreation and Mental Health Rehabilitation. .

This college also offers a two-year, full-time on-campus (in Edmonton) and distance delivery options for its Physical Therapy Assistant Diploma Program.

Applications for these programs are now being accepted for September 2007 for both full-time and distance delivery

SIAST Recreation and Tourism Program Change

Job Opportunities for High School Graduates

This opportunity is for high school students who wish to start a career in the grain industry, assisting in the purchasing, handling and shipping of grain and farm supplies. Moody's Equipment Ltd. $1 000 Scholarship

Deadline May 15 - Moody's Equipment, Ltd., has initiated this scholarship for students who wish to enroll in the Agricultural Macheinery Technology program at SIAST.

Two scholarships of $1 000 each will be awarded to students who have attended a high school in the Moody's Equipment trading area of Northwestern Saskatchewan (north of Davidson and west of Humboldt). Application forms are available from your guidance counsellor.

Saskatchewan Gaming Commission Leadership Award

May 31 - The SGC recognizes student leaders, undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing who have made exceptional contribuitons in various areas. One award of $2 500 will be presented to a Saskatchewan student who has met the following qualifications:
  • minimum average of 80%
  • history of community service
  • resident of Saskatchewan
  • studying in a recognized Saskatchewan institution
  • enrolled in a full-time degree, diploma or certificate program related to Business Administration, Communications, IT or Hospitality Management

Delta Co-op Scholarships

Deadline June 1 - Grade 12 students now have an opportunity to win one of these $500 scholarships, based on the following criteria:
  • be graduating from high school in a community that does not have a Delta Co-op
  • express a sincere desire to further their education at any accredited technial, trade school, college or university
  • enter a program that is a minimum of two semesters in length
  • be the son or daughter of an active Delta Co-op member

My Future is Here

My Future is Here is a strategic youth retention program established in 2002 by the Saskatchewan Rotary Youth Foundation. The program provides a link to the many resources available in Saskatchewan that help youth make informed decisions about building a future in our province. The program also awards scholarships for post-secondary studies and funds for business capital to young people who pursue their education or business enterprise in Saskatchewan.

Grade 11 Merit Awards - U. of Lethbridge

June 30 - Current grade 11 students who plan to attend the University of Lethbridge in the fall of 2008 with an 80% average and above are encouraged to apply.

As a follow-up, these applicants must supply their transcripts with final grade 11 marks to the Scholarhips and Student FinancesOffice by September 15, 2007.

Canada Basketball Scholarship

Deadline April 15 - The Canadian School Sport Federation and Canada Basketball through the Provincial/Territorial High School Athletic Associations governing bodies would like to announce 4 scholarships of $1250.00 for worthy male and female high school basketball players in Saskatchewan. Applicants will be scored on their academic success, leadership in the amateur sport community and on the basis of their other school and community activities.

RBC Royal Bank Financial Lifeskills Scholarships

Deadline May 11 - These scholarships are designed for students in any stream pursuing education in any field. Students require a minimum of 65 per cent average and acceptance into a Canadian college or university for full-time study in the 2007 Fall/Winter session. Ten awards of $2007 will be distributed to students across the country.
