The Heer Law Entrepreneurship Scholarship

This is a post-secondary scholarship, but please pass this on to anyone who might be interested:

In order to be eligible for the $2000 CAD scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be currently attending university or college or set to attend during the 2018-2019 academic year;
  2. Must be in good standing with their current or prospective institution;
  3. Must apply via email and provide their name, address, university or college, major and expected graduation month and year;
  4. Provide their application (a business plan for their current or prospective business which includes a section outlining intellectual property strategy) by December 31, 2018.
Applications will be judged on the strength of the business idea and the cogency of the business plan and intellectual property strategy. A winner will be chosen by January 31, 2019.
All submissions should be submitted via email to scholarship@heerlaw.com. All business plans submitted in application for this scholarship will be treated as strictly confidential. For more information, click HERE.

House of Commons Page Program


Senior high school students who maintain a minimum average of 80% and can speak both official languages are invited to apply to the House of Commons Page Program. To be eligible, they must also be accepted in a full‑time program at one of the National Capital Region universities. Successful candidates will be awarded a one-year work contract to begin in late August 2019. Applications must be submitted online via our website no later than Monday, December 3, 2018.

Be a Changemaker! Apply to Shad 2019

HAD is an award-winning enrichment and entrepreneurship program and network that empowers exceptional high school students – at a pivotal point in their education – to recognize their own capabilities and envision their extraordinary potential as tomorrow’s leaders and change makers.


How do we do this? Well, each year, we provide the opportunity for more than 900 students from across Canada and internationally to attend our STEAM-based (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) month-long program, in-residence at one of our Canadian host universities. Upon completion, these students become part of our impressive SHAD network. With a growing total of 17,000+, our network includes 32 Rhodes Scholars,  56 Schulich Leaders, 88 Loran Scholars as well as prominent entrepreneurs, industry leaders and accomplished professionals. Founded in 1980, SHAD is based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

MacRae Memorial Fund Scholarship

Deadline - Completed applications as well as all supporting documents must be received by the Learning Disabilities Association of Saskatchewan postmarked no later than December 1, of the present year.

Purpose: To recognize the hard work and dedication required of individuals with learning disabilities who succeed in completing their high school education and to encourage those individuals to continue their education in a post-secondary educational institution.

Field of Study: Any field of study in any institution in Saskatchewan, including SaskPolytech, a junior college, the University of Saskatchewan, or University of Regina.
Value of Scholarship - $1000

This is a free event for prospective students to learn more about what an engineering career looks like through hands-on activities, tours of labs and facilities and discussions with current engineering students.

 



Indigenous Spend-a-Day at University of Saskatchewan

Indigenous Spend-a-Day is Friday, October 26
 
Join us for Indigenous Spend-a-Day on Friday, October 26, 2018!
 
This is a one-day event held at the main uSask campus for Gr. 10, 11 and 12 First Nations, Métis and Inuit high school students.
 
Through interactive sessions, an Indigenous uSask alumni panel and an information fair, students learn about the program opportunities that have made uSask the choice of more than 3,100 current self-declared Indigenous students.

Each student will choose two interactive sessions to attend. We encourage students to register early to get their top choices.

Parents and counsellors

Parents and counsellors are also invited to Indigenous Spend-a-Day. Parents and counsellors have the same event agenda as students with the exception of sessions one and two. While students attend sessions with their peers, parents and counsellors will learn about admissions, scholarships, student learning services and more.

Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships are uSask’s highest valued, renewable entrance scholarships and are awarded based on academics, leadership and contributions to school and community life. Five of these awards, known as the Circle of Honour Awards, are designated for Indigenous students.

Competitive Entrance Awards
Competitive Entrance Awards include numerous scholarships and bursaries that can be accessed by many students with diverse experiences. These awards are for students entering their first year in an undergraduate degree program who will be admitted on the basis of their high school grades. Students must be entering the fall 2019 term at the University of Calgary.
