Gibson Livestock Scholarship

 Gibson Livestock will award a scholarship of $1500 to the winning applicant(s) that can demonstrate their passion and potential through a 300-500 word essay describing themselves, their current involvement in Canadian agriculture, community and extracurricular activities, what has inspired them to pursue a career field in agriculture and future goals for themselves in the Canadian Ag sector.

Applicants must also provide

- Two references

- A reference letter

- Transcripts (high school or post-secondary)

*Awardees must present a university/college acceptance letter or letter of current enrolment before receiving the funds but may apply before they are accepted at such institution.*

Open House at Sask Polytech

 Saskatchewan Polytechnic's upcoming Open House will be held the week of March 21 - 24, 2022.

To help advertise this event to your students, you can download and print posters for each campus:

As a reminder, the week will begin with virtual sessions on Monday, March 21 featuring general information about Sask Polytech and your path to becoming a student, Q&A through live chat and more!

Prospective students can then visit one of four campus locations in person to learn more about the programs offered. The dates and locations are as follows:

  • Tuesday, March 22: Regina
  • Wednesday, March 23: Saskatoon
  • Thursday, March 24: Moose Jaw and Prince Albert

U of S - Sign up opens April 4 for Indigenous Student Achievement Pathways (ISAP)

 

ISAP offers new Indigenous students access to small cohort Learning Communities (LCs) that provide a strong start to diverse degree and certificate pathways while boosting academic confidence and celebrating student potential.

In ISAP, students will:

  • Select two to five popular 100-level courses offered in themed ISAP LCs each term
  • Study with culturally-responsive instructors and peers with similar academic interests and goals
  • Connect in weekly meetings with upper-year Indigenous student mentors, amazing role model speakers, and USask alumni
  • Benefit from financial advocacy and inter-college transition support (e.g. students interested in nursing or engineering pathways) 
  • Receive an invitation to ISAP's Summer Start held August 22-24!

New Indigenous students can reserve a seat in ISAP First Year LCs and STEM Accelerator Courses for this fall by following these steps:

  1. Apply for admission to USask
  2. Accept their offer of admission online through their USask admissions account
  3. Complete the online ISAP intake survey, which opens Monday, April 4, 2022.

U of S - Early Admission Deadline for Specific Programs


May 1 is the deadline for all applicants to apply for admission to the fall term (September) to study in:

May 1 is also the deadline for international applicants to apply for admission to programs in the College of Arts and Science. (While the deadline for Canadian citizens and permanent residents to apply for admission to the College of Arts and Science is August 15, applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible since class registration opens in June.)

 


Students who do not meet USask's English language proficiency requirement are encouraged to apply for joint admission to their degree program of choice and our English for Academic Purposes program. The deadline to apply for joint admission for the 2022 Fall Term is July 15; however, we encourage students to apply early.

Wheatland Accounting Agriculture Scholarships

 Wheatland Accounting Services Ltd. is focused on agriculture and we believe this industry holds tremendous potential for Saskatchewan’s youth. We are excited about this opportunity to encourage our youth to develop knowledge that will ultimately enhance the efficiency, competitiveness and profitability of this industry in Saskatchewan.

Three scholarships of $500.00 are being offered to Saskatchewan high school graduates of 2022 who are passionate about moving into post secondary education (inside or outside of Saskatchewan) towards obtaining a diploma or degree that will equip you to operate your own farm or be employed in a position serving agriculture.

To qualify you must explain; what makes you passionate about agriculture, what drives you to choose this industry for your future and your vision of the future of agriculture in this province. You may do this in the form of a written one page essay or a brief one to two minute video.

In addition to your essay or video, you are required to complete the application below that will ask for your contact information, transcript of marks, and some proof of the post secondary education that you are enrolled in for the fall of 2022.

The winners of this award will be contacted and a cheque will be mailed following notification. The winning graduates will have their essay or video posted on our website, published in our Newsletter, and on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

Please upload your essay or video using the Client Area link above. You may send us the essay or video prior to having your transcript and proof of enrollment, however those items will have to be sent later.

Applications must be received no later than April 30, 2022.

The Verna J. Kirkness Education Foundation Program for Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit) high school students is still accepting applications and the deadline to apply is April 1st, 2022. They are once again offering full VJKF scholarships for successful applicants to participate in the VJKF Program to learn about science, technology, engineering, and math. 

This year’s program is offered in partnership with 13 universities from across Canada, offering Indigenous high-school students an opportunity to learn directly from professors and their team about the exciting research happening on campuses across Canada right now. Our VJKF team has worked hard to create an exciting five-day virtual program featuring core lab classes, guest speakers, hands-on science experiments, a keynote speaker, virtual campus tours, scholarship opportunities, prizes, and more.

 Students accepted to the program will have the opportunity to choose which research area they’d like to learn more about. We will be updating our website as professors confirm this year’s topics.Learn more about our past programs by watching this video.

 Encourage Students to APPLY! 

Students can apply either online or by sending in the attached application. What they need to apply: our parental consent form completed, a personal reference from a teacher, and an essay simply telling us why you want to attend (50-400 words). Student grades are not a factor in being accepted! The deadline to apply is April 1st, 2022. 

 There are two Programs to choose from: 

• Western Canada Program, May 2–6 (PDT) 

• Eastern Canada Program, May 9–13 (EDT)
