S.W.E.A.T. at The Art Institute of Vancouver

SWEAT (Structured Work Experience and Training) 2009 - The Art Institute of Vancouver's SWEAT program which returns from March 23-26, 2009. Attendees can benefit from the 30 hours of industry experience and training offered during that week.If you have students who would still like to apply, the documents they need to complete and return are attached here. ACAD Pre-College Program

Your students can now register in the 2009 ACAD Pre-College Program. The Pre-College Program gives students an opportunity to earn three college credits and to experience college learning prior to admittance.
The Pre-College experience helps students make a successful transition into post-secondary studies. In addition to their college-level studies, students also participate in special events and field trips to enrich their learning and cultivate new friendships. As an outcome, students understand college-level expectations and can lighten their first year course load.

Education Degree, Lakeland College

New for 2009-2010 - Lakeland Collge is now offering a Bachelor of Education Master of Teaching (elementary) two-year after degree program in collaboration with the University of Calgary.

Nursing Options- Lakeland College

Graduates of the Practical Nurse program offered at the Lloydminster campus can further their studies in Athabasca University's Post LPN Bachelor of Nursing program, thanks to a new transfer agreement. To be eligible for the transfer, students must complete the two-year PN diploma, pass the licensing exam and work on year (1700 hours) as a licensed practical nurse.

Addictions Awareness Contest

The Elks and Royal Purple are once again sponsoring an their "Addictions Awareness Contest: Promoting Healthy Choices."Entries in this literary, poster or video contest must be submitted to your nearest Elks or Royal Purple Lodge by the end of February, but you should contact them for local deadlines.

Depending on the category chosen, students in grades K to 12 are eligible to enter the contest.

National awards vary from $100 for third place to a senior literary scholarship of $1000. Further information and entry forms are available at http://www.elks-canada.org/pages/charity_contest.htm

Minot State University - Tuition Change
