Lakeland College - Updates!

Agricultural Sciences:
§  A brand new Dairy barn is currently being built for our Animal Science Technology (Dairy) Students.
§  The current Sheep and Beef Centre will be turned into a 24/7 Vet clinic for our Animal Health Technology students.
Environmental Sciences:
§  New clubs, mentor, and leadership opportunities for our students on campus.
§  International field trips including Peru, Thailand and Sri-lanka.
Energy and Petroleum
§  NEW: Approved 2nd class daytime program beginning September 2017.
Health & Wellness
§  NEW: Full time hairstyling (1400 hours) program located on the Lloydminster Campus in newly constructed salon. Program will begin in September 2017 and will run until June 2018.
Business
§  NEW: Administrative Professional certificate program, full time 1 year certificate program offered on the Lloydminster campus starting September 2017.
University Transfer
§  U of A Medicine Fall 2019 degree required for admissions.
§  NEW: Routes for MacEwan University, Commerce- 1 year at Lakeland, and Social Work- 2 years at Lakeland.
Fire and Emergency
§  For the 12 week certificate admissions requirements have changed, must have airbrakes.
Human Services
§  NEW: Online students can complete a virtual practicum.
Interior Design
§  Students are required to complete a creative assignment prior to being accepted into the interior design program.
Trades and Technology
§  Class 1 or 3 (Alberta and Saskatchewan) driver training is back to Lakeland College, Lloydminster Campus.
§  CTS is continuing for Carpentry and Interior and Design.

§  Our Street Rod Technologies program prepares students for future study in Auto Body prepper, paint or repair.
