Once again, the RCMP will be holding a week long Depot Youth Camp at our Training Academy in
Regina.
Thirty-two
students (from Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta, Northwest Territories and
Nunavet) will be chosen to attend the one week youth camp at Depot, from
August 11 to 15, 2014. In addtion, there will be a second week-long
camp for Aboriginal students which will run from August 4 to 8, 2014.
The
students will be selected based on their academic achievement, fitness and
interest in police work. Since the RCMP is committed to equity and diversity, this will be reflected in the students who are selected. There will be a wide variety of activities
planned for the students to observe or participate in during their week at
Depot. These activities may include: drill, driver simulator
training, police officer scenarios, tours of Depot and the museum, and
much more! This is a busy week, past participants have reported that it
is extremely educational, and a great opportunity to make new friends and have
a lot of fun.
Application forms are available from your guidance counsellor. It is very important that all of the forms are
completed and signed, as an incomplete application may be concluded
immediately due to the large number of applications received and
the limited positions available.
