Canadian Mennonite University Scholarship and Essay Contests

The CMU Spring Scholarship Contest is open to all high school and post-secondary students who have not yet received a scholarship from CMU. Students must simply meet the eligibility requirements, and complete the entry form.

Three winners will be randomly selected and can choose one of the following prize packages, all worth approximately $700.

Tuition – One free 3 credit hour course
Meals & Parking – 78 dining hall lunch tickets plus one 8-month CMU parking pass Textbook – $700 store credit at CommonWord Bookstore and Resource Centre

U of Regina Spring Open House

Grade 11 students are invited to attend the NEW Spring Open House on Friday, May 24, 2019. This full day of programming includes breakout presentations and hands-on workshops, information booths, and free lunch! It's a great opportunity to explore all that the U of R has to offer - academically and outside of the classroom!
Students must register in advance for this event as space will be limited to 300 students. Registration will go live May 1.needed. Grade 12 students who are still making decisions are also welcome to attend.

Machining Madness at SK Polytech


When you stop and think about it there are many things that machinists make. Did you know that a machinist made the molds that made your car tires? Take a look at your cell phone; A machinist made the die-cast that set the plastic for that phone. Machinists are everywhere.
Come out to Saskatchewan Polytechnic and have a great day finding out more about becoming a machinist. There will be competitions to see who will be the maddest machinist.

Digitized Conference in Saskatoon - May 7

Digitized is the largest one-day technology career event for Saskatchewan high school students. In 2018, more than 400 students attended Digitized.

U of Saskatchewan Graduation Powow

Consider attending the annual Graduation Powwow on Friday, May 31 at Merlis Belsher Place on the Saskatoon campus.

Graduation Powwow honours the academic achievements of Métis, First Nations and Inuit graduates from USask and local secondary schools.

The powwow is also a time to celebrate the Indigenous community and culture at USask and around the province. This is the largest annual Indigenous event held by USask and attracts over 2,500 participants each year.

Attendees have the opportunity to:
• celebrate and honour Indigenous graduates from USask and local secondary schools
• listen to traditional First Nations drumming and singing
• watch a variety of traditional First Nations and Métis dance styles
• participate in educational children's workshops
• enjoy delicious food

Saskatchewan Pulse Scholarships

Saskatchewan Pulse Growers (SPG) would like to invite all students completing Grade 12 this year, to apply for five of their $5,000 scholarships being given out in 2019.
To be eligible for a scholarship, students must complete Grade 12 this year and go on to attend a Saskatchewan-based, post-secondary program, full-time this fall, in a program associated with the agriculture industry. The student or student’s parent(s) must also be registered Saskatchewan pulse growers (ex. they have sold Saskatchewan-grown pulses in the last two years).
Applications are due by Friday, May 3, 2019 at 4:30 PM. For details on eligibility and selection criteria, please see the attached documents

Along with submitting your career portfolio, you are to complete the application form, available by clicking HERE and scrolling down.
Eligibility
A graduating student from within the Living Sky School Division who is working at his/her potential. and plans to advance his/her education at a recognized post-secondary institution.  The student must possess and exhibit the qualities of a good citizen both within and outside of the school.  This should be a student who does not usually receive public recognition.  The student must meet the admission requirements of their post-secondary program, but do not necessarily have to be an Honour Roll student.  Students must submit a portfolio that provides evidence of citizenship, extra-curricular, and volunteer activities to verify their experiences.  The candidate must provide proof of successful attendance in Semester 2 courses of their chosen program before the scholarship will be awarded.

Sask. Learning Disabilities Association Scholarship


This scholarship has been established to recognize the hard work and dedication required of individuals with learning disabilities who succeed in completing their high school education and to encourage those individuals to continue their education in a post-secondary educational institution.
FIELD OF STUDY: Any field of study at any institution (in Saskatchewan) listed as a post-secondary educational institution on the website of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Employment and Education.
VALUE OF SCHOLARSHIP: $1000
DURATION: Three awarded annually.
DEADLINE: Completed applications as well as all supporting documents must be received by the Learning Disabilities Association of Saskatchewan postmarked no later than April 30, of the present year.
CONDITIONS: Candidates must be Canadian citizens or landed immigrants and permanent residents of Saskatchewan who have graduated from a Saskatchewan high school, and who have a written diagnosis of a learning disability.
PROGRAM The scholarship is administered by the Learning Disabilities.

TRANSITION AWARD 2019
Eligibility: This is a $1000.00 award in recognition of a Saskatchewan citizen who has overcome significant challenges due to a disability in order to achieve his/her goals. The individual may be entering a training program, a work experience program, beginning a new job or making some other significant transition (e.g. high school to supported employment; high school to post-secondary education; supported employment to regular employment or other transition) in Canada. The award money will be given directly to the recipient after The Saskatchewan CEC Scholarship and Awards chair has received confirmation that the person has begun the transition into his/her new situation.

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP 2019
 Eligibility: This is a $1000.00 academic scholarship intended to support a Saskatchewan citizen pursuing a career directly related to working with persons with exceptionalities. The individual must be entering a full time education or training program in a Canadian institution in the next academic calendar year. The scholarship money will be given directly to the recipient after the Saskatchewan CEC Scholarship Committee chair has received confirmation that the person is registered in a post-secondary program.

Hazel Asmussen Scholarship


The Hazel Asmussen Fund provides an annual scholarship for a student who is pursuing post-secondary education in the fine arts. Hazel, a retired nurse and local artist, had long been involved in community building. Donors have contributed to this fund since 2007.

The 2019 scholarship amount is $1,015

Application Process

Potential applicants for the Hazel Asmussen Fund scholarship are encouraged to contact the foundation at 441-2961 (phone or text) or sterlingcommunications@littleloon.ca for more information.

Applicants must submit a completed application to the BDCF by the deadline of 5pm on March 31, 2019. The Grants Committee will review all applications by April 15, 2019. They will focus on applicants who have met the above criteria. The scholarship will be paid directly to the college/university on behalf of the successful applicant once proof of tuition deposit has been received by BDCF.

Sarah Beth Therien Memorial Scholarship

Are you a young person striving to make the world a safer place? Apply for the Sarah Beth Therien Memorial Scholarship, a one-time award of $2,000 recognizing safety leaders among Canada’s youth. 

The competition for the Sarah Beth Therien Memorial Scholarship is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents who are full-time undergraduate students, or graduating high school students entering a recognized post-secondary program in September 2019. Access Communications Scholarship

Grade 12 graduates across Saskatchewan can apply for 20 $1,000 Access Communications Scholarships? Since 2005, Access Communications has put more than $318,000 into the hands of high school graduates across our province. Applicants must have demonstrated record of volunteerism in the community in non-school sponsored activities; participation in extracurricular school activities; demonstrated leadership skills; academic achievement and have the endorsement of their school guidance counsellor or principal.
Access also awards
  •  the $1,500 Access Communications/Fred Wagman Entrance Scholarships in Film & Video to deserving students at the University of Regina. 
  • the Saskatchewan Polytechnic students $3,000 annually in the Computer Networking Technician and the Telecommunications Network Technician certificate programs.
