Saskatchewan Advantage Scholarship

The Saskatchewan Advantage Scholarship (SAS) provides all new grade 12 graduates, including Adult Basic Education (ABE) and GED® students, up to $500 per year, to a lifetime maximum of $2,000, to be applied to their tuition costs at a Saskatchewan post-secondary institution.
You are eligible if:
  • You successfully graduated from grade 12 in Saskatchewan (including ABE and GED®) on or after January 1, 2012; and
  • You are enrolled at a Saskatchewan post-secondary institution in a program that is recognized for Canada-Saskatchewan student loans (certificate, diploma, and degree programs) or an apprenticeship program.
With the exception of both Lakeland College campuses and specific specialized health programs, programs at post-secondary institutions outside of Saskatchewan are not eligible

News from Sask Polytech

Agreement between Sask Polytech and the U of S Edwards School of Business 

Saskatchewan Polytechnic and the University of Saskatchewan's  (U of S) Edwards School of Business signed an agreement today that allows business students to transfer between institutions.  Read more!

Aboriginal Policing Preparation Credential is changing to a certificate from an applied certificate.
Esthetician
Admission requirement will be Grade 10, English Language Requirement.
 
Educational Assistant Program is suspended at the Regina Campus.   The program is available full-time at the Saskatoon Campus and on a part-time basis through continuing education.

Funeral Service New admission requirements: Grade 12 with Biology 30, and either English Language Arts A30 (minimum 60%) or English Language Arts B30 (minimum 60%).

Society of Petroleum Engineers

The Lloydminster Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers donates these awards to worthy candidates to recognize graduating high school students:
·         Personal development
·         Academic Achievement
·         Contribution to school and community
The scholarships are intended to financially assist students who will be continuing their education in a post-secondary institute and who are majoring in SCIENCE or ENGINEERING with relationship to the petroleum industry. The applicant must be in full time attendance and a member of the current year’s graduating class. At the time of awarding the scholarship the applicant must be enrolled full time in a post-secondary program of studies at a university, college or technical school.
1.  Two (2) High School Scholarships at $1000.00 each,

Monsanto Fund Opportunity Scholarship 2016

Deadline: June 15

The Monsanto Fund Opportunity Scholarship Program is available to Canadian high school students who are enrolled in their final year of high school as of May 29, 2016 and eligible to graduate from high school in 2016. Those eligible for a scholarship must be planning to enroll at a Canadian post‑secondary institution (degree or diploma) in a first-year agriculture, food science or culinary program.
If you have applied for entry into a college or university, but have not yet been accepted, you can still apply for a Monsanto Fund Opportunity Scholarship. However, if you are awarded a scholarship, you must provide an acceptance letter from your educational institution.
Successful applicants will each be awarded a scholarship valued at $1,500, based on demonstrated academic standards and leadership in the community. Selection will be made by an independent panel.

Graduation Powwow for High School and University Graduates

Since 2009, uSask's Graduation Powwow has been held in the spring to celebrate the academic achievements of graduating First Nations, Métis and Inuit students from the our university and from high schools throughout Saskatchewan.

Everyone is welcome to attend this free event or you can watch a live stream of the grand entry and honouring ceremonies online from your own home or school.

If your school plans to attend, please register your school group, including any graduating Aboriginal Grade 12 students* who wish to be part of the event.

A Learning Community (LC) is helps new students to make a successful transition to university. Learning Communities offer new students the chance to:
  • learn to adapt more quickly to university, including developing the skills needed to succeed in this new academic environment;
  • benefit from the mentorship and support of successful upper-year students and recent U of S graduates;
  • take a set of the same classes together with other new students in their college/program; and
  • enjoy early access to popular classes that can be used to meet the requirements of a variety of degrees.

Saskatchewan School Boards Association Scholarships

Each year, the Saskatchewan School Boards Association awards two $2,500 scholarships to graduating high school students who remain in Saskatchewan in post-secondary study:

Degree Program Scholarship: $2,500
Technical/Trade Program Scholarship: $2,500

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of demonstrated good character, community leadership, financial need, and a 500-word essay. The application deadline is Aug. 31 each year. To access the application form and view the rubric that is being used to score the scholarships, visit:

Great Plains College Entrance Scholarships 2016

You are automatically considered for an Entrance Scholarship or Early Entrance Award when youapply to a full-time student loan-eligible program before the scholarship deadline (see below).
You must pay your $55 application fee and submit your most current transcripts for your application to be considered.
  • $500 minimum Entrance Scholarship 
  • $5,000 maximum Entrance Scholarship 
  • $1,000 Early Entrance Award (Gr. 11) 
Entrance Scholarship ($500-$5,000) 
Entrance Scholarships of $500 are available to full-time student-loan eligible students in:

Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists Scholarship

Deadline April 30

The Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists offers scholarships to support youth in achieving their career in agrology related sectors, including agriculture, bioresources, food or the environment, the Institute’s six branches are each awarding a scholarship of $1,000 to candidates who meet the eligibility requirements and demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in agrology.

SCHOLARSHIP: Six (6) $1,000 scholarships.
One recipient from each of the six SIA Branches.

WiTech Workshop at Sask Polytechnic

This hands-on, half-day workshop for women ages 16+ offers an introduction to the Integrated Resource Management, Geographic Information Science, and Resource and Environmental Law programs. This workshop explores careers such as a biologist, a forester, or nature interpreter; careers in digital mapping, data analysis and Global Positioning System (GPS); or careers in conservation law enforcement.

MC College Scholarship

 MC College is an accredited institution across western Canada with 6 campuses in total offering Hairstyling and Esthetics programs.  The purpose of our scholarship is to encourage creative young individuals interested in pursuing a career in the Salon or Spa Industry.

Gerry McCudden Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a graduating grade 12 student who is seeking financial assistance for post-secondary studies. It is competitive and merit-based as applicants must have a minimum average of 80% and must demonstrate leadership.
