United Nations Pilgrimage for Youth
January 12 Application Deadline - The purpose of the United Nations Pilgrimage for Youth is for youth to study and observe the United Nations in action. The two-week, all expense paid tour involves a week in New York as well as time in Washington, Philadelphie and Ottawa. Mount Royal College - Auditions
Mount Royal College offers a 2 year music diploma in both Jazz and Classical streams. Auditions are on March 6 and April 17 for jass and on March 26 and 27 for classical streams. Students must officially apply to Mount Royal College before being assigned an audition time.

Agriventure Programs
Students who are considering a "gap year" before starting post-secondary studies may benefit from this international agricultural exchange program. Agriventure gives young people, aged 18 - 30 the opportunity to travel the world and combine this with working in agriculture or horticulture. The program includes flights, visa or work permit, insurance, an information package, an allowance work placement, an orientation seminar and a contact person in the host country. Placements are available in UK, Japan, New Zealand, Australia or Europe. If a student wants to travel around the world, they can do a two country porgramme for 14 months.

Entrepreneurship Keynote at SCWEA
The final keynote speaker at the SCWEA conference was Dallas Gislason of Enterprise Saskatchewan. He provided a fresh perspective on entrepeneurship, particularly with regard to identifying potential in our youth and encouraging young people to become "enterprisable" and to convert creativity (thinking) into innovation (doing). This process involves awareness, education, access to finance, policy, incubation, mentorship, skills, and networking - - all of which are available in the province today, according to this young man.
Gislason pointed out that as educators, we are often involved in the tangible side of developing entrepreneurship, but there is also an intangible side involving creativity, intrapreneurship, diversity, and other socioeconomic indicators (arts, music, cultural activies) that we can tap into.

Shad Valley
Shad Valley is a month-long, university host science, technology and innovation enrichment experience for grade 10, 11 and 12 students (15 to 18 years of age). Successful applicants come to Shad Valley from June 28 to July 24, 2009 to work with others who share the same drive for achievement and the same desire to make a difference. Key components of the program are academics and a business project where the students are challenged to bring a new science and engineering based invention to market. Lakeland College - financial incentives
- Students attending an open house or booking a campus tour at Lakeland are eligible for the tour incentive program. Student living more than 100km away from campus will receive atuition credit based on kilometres traveled up to a maximum of 1500 km. A tuition credit for meals is also provided.
- Deadline April 30 - If you apply to Lakeland College and submit your Grade 11 marks and you have an average of 85% or higher, you'll recieve will be eligible for an academic excellence scholarship ($1500 for 85% minimum; $2500 for 90% minimum; $3500 for 95% minimum.

What is Engineering? (Seminar)
This anual joint initiative bettwen the Faculty of Engineering at the U of R, the College of Engineering at the U of S and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan will take place Tuesday, November 4 in Saskatoon and Wednesday, November 5 in Regina.

The Canadian Forces has two programs for subsidizing students:

This year, Saskatchewan's largest career and education fair will be held in Saskatoon on November 3 at the Saskatoon Inn and Regina on November 4 at the Queensbury Convention Centre.
At this event students can explore educational opportunities, examine career paths and plan vocational goals. We host over 130 exhibitors from organizations across Canada, the USA, and overseas. Over the past eleven years, there has been a substantial increase in interest from institutions around the world as well as high-school counsellors and leaders.
The event is presented in a trade show approach with interactive display booths. The universities, colleges and organizations with in-house training bring expertise and innovation in a variety of fields. SIGA Scholarship Program
The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) has announced a new scholarship program that will give $25 000 to First Nations students. The scholarships, to be given out this spring, include two $5000 awards to students in computer science, commerce, or hospitality and tourism management; and two $2500 awards to communications or electronics students. Ten $1000 scholarships will also go toward First Nations language retention, as well as to eligible students in any other fields. Applications will be available on the SIGA website. The deadline is July 31.

Summer University Transition Program
The Summer University Transition Program is open to all Aboriginal students who have applied to the University of Saskatchewan for July 2008 in any direct entry college. The goal of the program is to support Aboriginal students in the transition to first year studies at the University of Saskatchewan. The Summer University Transition Program is a joint initiative between the college of Arts and Science and the Aboriginal Students' Centre. Prince Edward Drama Scholarship
June 2 Deadline - Saskatchewan drama students aged 13 to 18 may receive up to $500 through the Prince Edward Drama Scholrship to attend a drama program in the province. Saskatchewan School Boards Association Scholarship
Each year the Saskatchewan School Boards Association offers two education scholarships of $1,000 each to graduating high school students who remain in Saskatchewan in post-secondary study. One scholarship is awarded to a student entering university in Saskatchewan and one scholarship is awarded to a student entering a technical institute in Saskatchewan. New Program - U of S
In September 2008, the first students will begin their Bachelor of Science in Renewable Reource Management program at the University of Saskatchewan. These students will be educated to deal with issues such as bioremediation of contaminated land, evaluation of ecological goods and services, forestry and agroforestry systems, indigenous peoples' resource management and greenhouse gas mitigation. This new program is offered through the College of Agriculture and Bioresources.

SGI Corporate Scholarship Program
September 30 - The SGI Corporate Scholarship is open to all Saskatchewan residents attending accredited post-secondary institutions in Saskatchewan. Eight $2,500 scholarships are awarded each year - four to university students and four to students attending a technical institute. Scholarships are awarded for one year on a one-time basis - recipients may receive only one SGI scholarship during their studies.

A.E. Blakeney SaskTel Bursary
In honour of Allan Blakeney's tenure on the SaskTel Board, and in recognition of his retirement, the A.E. Blakeney Bursary has been established in his name.
The A.E. Blakeney Bursary is awarded biannually and since the first award was given in 2004, future awards will be given in 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012. The application deadline is March 28, 2008.
The recipient of the A.E. Blakeney SaskTel Bursary will be awarded $10,000 annually for a period of four years. The total value of this four year bursary is $40,000.

Casino Regina Scholarship Program
May 31 - The Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation offers scholarships to encourage Saskatchewan residents to pursue full-time post-secondary education in the fields of business administration, hospitality management, electronics or computer technologies, and communications.
Fourteen scholarships are available. Six $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled in university degree programs, and eight $500 scholarships will be awarded in certificate or diploma programs at regional colleges and technical institutes.
To be eligible for a scholarship, the applicant must:

CUPE 4747 Scholarship Criteria
April 30 -To be eligible, students must have a parent/guardian be a member of CUPE local 4747 for at least one full year. Students must submit their application including their high school marks and letter outlining future education plans to CUPE local. Proof of acceptance at a post-secondary school must be provided before money is given.

Workplace Health and Safety Event
Sask Advanced Education, Employment and Labour has partnered with the Sask Construction Safety Association to offer this event in Saskatoon, in conjunction with the Saskatoon and Regional Homebuilders Home Show and Career Centre. In this Olympic-style competition, students participate in paactical challenages designed to test the skills required in trade and technology occupations.

Alberta College of Art and Design Pre-College Program

U of T Youth Summer Programs
The University of Toronto's Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Medicine offer a summer program where high school students experience what it is like to be a student in these faculties. Participants have access to the University's top academic and research professionals and take part in "hands-on" academic programming. Programs range in length from one to four weeks.

U of A Scholarship - Extended Deadline
The University of Alberta has extend the Academic Excellence Scholarship Competition until March 1, 2008 (for this year only).

Insight: Taylor University Visits
Thursday, February 28 to Friday, February 29, Taylor University is inviting prospective students to spend a day and sit in on classes, attend chapel, enjoy a free lunch and get to know Taylor students. This could include an overnight stay in residence. Taylor University is a fully accredited Christian Liberal Arts College which offers 3 or 4 year degress in Psychology, English,Social Studies, General Studies, and Religion and Theology, as well as transfer programs in Education, Business, Music and General Studies.
There is no cost to attend. However, registration is required by February 22.
