Language Programs - Council of Education Ministers

The Council of Ministers of Education, Canada offers three unique programs of interest to students who want to travel the country.

Explore - Explore is a five-week intensive language-learning course. You are eligible to apply for the program if you are a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status, have completed grade 11 (secondary 5 in Quebec) or are at the postsecondary level prior to the start of the course, and were enrolled in school full-time for at least one semester in the current academic year. Accent - Accent is a part-time work experience available to postsecondary students who, as a rule, study outside their home province or territory.
With Accent, you will lead classroom activities in English with elementary, secondary, or postsecondary Canadian students, eight hours per week, between September and April.
Language assistants are paid $4,160* ($520 a month, approximately $16 per hour) over eight months. See www.myaccent.ca for more information.

Odyssey - Odyssey is a full-time work experience that will give you the opportunity to live in another province, share your culture, and make a difference in the lives of young people in your host community. You'll be paid a total of $18,500* (approximately $2,000 a month, $20 per hour) during your Odyssey for the nine months of your mandate. * Please note that this amount is taxable.
