Top 20 Under 20

Deadline: February 1


Top 20 under 20™ applicants will meet the following eligibility requirements:
  • A young person who has demonstrated significant amounts of Innovation, Leadership and Achievements in their life, school, community, province or country
     
  • Under the age of 20 (as of December 31, 2012)
     
  • Canadian citizenship or permanent residence status
     
  • Desire to pursue some form of education or training, whether that be Canadian secondary, post-secondary or training education (high school or equivalent, CEGEP, GED, college, university, training or apprenticeship programs)
     
  • All nominations must include a letter of endorsement by a sponsor. The sponsor must speak to the applicant's role and innovative project.
     
  • Top 20 Under 20™ is an individual award. Applications for a group is not permitted.
     
  • Not a past recipient of the Top 20 Under 20™ Award

Explore: French Language Bursary Program

Explore is a five-week intensive language-immersion course, adapted to your level which is offered during the spring or summer.

Participants receive a $2000 bursary to cover tuition, instructional materials, meals, accommodations, workshops and other mandatory activities. Bursaries go directly to the educational institution the participant will be attending. Bursaries are awarded by random draw.

To participate, you must:

  • be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • be at least grade 11 during the current school year or be at the post-secondary level
  • have been a full-time student for at least one term during the current school year
  • be at least 16 years of age on the first day of the course.

BullyingCanada Scholarship

Deadline: January 1, 2013

BullyingCanada, Canada's National Anti-Bullying Charity is now accepting applications for the organizations Scholarship Program. The scholarship is open to students in their final year of high school who have worked to end bullying in their schools and communities to aid them with their post secondary education.  The first round has three scholarships (1 - $500 and 2 - $250.00) scholarships, with more to follow in the months to come.

2013 Saskatchewan Lester B. Pearson Scholarship

Deadline: February 15, 2013

Applications for the 2013 Lester B. Pearson College of the Pacific Scholarship are available now. One Saskatchewan student is chosen each year to attend the two-year, international Baccalaureate program at Lester B. Pearson College of the Pacific, a Unity World College. This program allows participants to excel academically, become involved in service activities, and to gain an understanding of students from other cultures.
The scholarship is limited to Grade 11 students attending a Saskatchewan school that is provincially funded.

United Nations Pilgrimage for Youth

Application Deadline: January 15, 2013

The purpose of the United Nations Pilgrimage for Youth is to allow an opportunity for students, aged 16 or 17 who have one year of high school remaining, to study and to observe the United Nations in action. This 10 day, all expense paid tour includes a week in New York.

Applicants must complete an application form, write an original essay of 450-500 words, provide their marks from June 2012, and include reference letters from a school official as well as a personal reference.

Other criteria include participating in a public speaking competition in late February, 2013.

Pre-College Program - Alberta College of Art and Design


The ACAD Pre-college Program is a concentrated introduction to post-secondary art and design studies. It is a fully credited ACAD First Year Studies elective that immerses high school students in post-secondary learning in art and design. The ACAD Pre-college Program mirrors contemporary art + design practice and simulates the pace and expectations of the college experience. It is structured to prepare students for a successful transition into post-secondary education.

The 2013 ACAD Pre-College Program will run from July 8 - August 2 at Alberta College of Art + Design in Calgary, Alberta. This is the eighth year for the college-credited program for high school students aged 16-18 years who have completed grade 11 or 12.

Bursary support is available for financially disadvantaged students. The deadline to apply for the ACAD President's Fund Bursaries is April 30, 2013.
