Young Worker Readiness Certificate

Beginning March 31, 2010, 14 and 15 year olds need to obtain a Young Worker Readiness Certificate before they can work in Saskatchewan. You can take the Young Worker Readiness Certificate Course online by clicking the title link above.

U of S First Annual Graduation Powwow

June 16, 2010 - The University of Saskatchewan will host its first annual Graduation Powwow at Griffiths Stadium in PotashCorp Park in Saskatoon. Students who self-identify as aboriginal (First Nation, Metis or Inuit) and are graduating from high school in 2010 can participate in the morning Powwow Grand Entry (set for 10 am) and be recognized in the Powwow Program.

All schools and students are invited to attend the morning Powwow which will include honouring of the high school graduates, youth dances/singing contests, cultural teachings in the Teepee Village and the Campus Expo.

Living Sky Educational Enhancement Awards

Deadline: June 15

These bursaries are available to grade 7 – 12 students within the Living Sky School Division. They are intended for students to continue their learning in an
area of study or interest in which they excel.Eligible activities include summer camps, workshops,retreats, etc.

Our History, Our Stories: Essay and Poster Contest

Deadline: May 27
The Trails of 1885, along with the Ministry of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport, is holding a province wide poster (grades 1-5) and story writing (grades 6-12) contest focusing on the 1885 Northwest Resistance. Winners and runners-up will be invited to participate in an 1885 commemoration event near them and will be asked to either read their story or display their poster at the event. Winners will receive a digital camera and runners-up will receive a gift card.
