Lakeland College Open House 2018

2018 dates set

Open House will be October 19 & 20, 2018 from 9 am to 3 pm on both days

We'll do the usual open our doors for you to:
  • tour the campus, residence, the farm and Emergency Training Centre
  • take in classes
  • speak with current students and instructors
  • apply for free
  • play Rowdy bingo to earn a hoodie
  • win an iPad

Sask Polytech Information NIght and Insight

INFORMATION NIGHT
Thursday, October 18, 2018, 6:30 - 8:00 pm.

Are your students/clients thinking about post secondary education? Want more information about Saskatchewan Polytechnic? Join us for an informative evening session at a campus near you. Pre-registration is required, register at myPath.
This event is happening in all campus cities - Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon.

INSIGHT
INSIGHT events provide an opportunity for prospective students to experience a Sask Polytech program first hand.   
These half-day events will provide insight into:
  • a specific program
  • student life
  • campus atmosphere
  • admission requirements
  • application process

University of Saskatchewan Best and Brightest Scholarships

Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships are uSask’s highest valued, renewable entrance scholarships and are awarded based on academics, leadership and contributions to school and community life.
Five of these awards, known as the Circle of Honour Awards, are designated for Indigenous students.
To be considered, complete your application for admission by December 1, and fill out and submit the online application for Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships in PAWS by December 15.

Contest: Canadian Seed Trade Association Future Influencers


Gr. 11 and 12 students with an interest in agriculture and public speaking are encouraged to enter the annual Canadian Seed Trade Association Future Influencers contest.

Two winners will be chosen and will receive an all expenses paid trip to Ottawa to attend the GrowCanada 2018 conference.

Indigenous Spend-a-day at U of Saskatchewan

Friday, October 26
  
This is a one-day event held at the main uSask campus for Gr. 10, 11 and 12 First Nations, Métis and Inuit high school students.
Through interactive sessions, an Indigenous uSask student panel and an information fair, students learn about the program opportunities for Indigenous students.
Registration opens soon. In the meantime, visit their website to see the wide range of student sessions they are offering this year.

Free Math Foundations 30 Class at U of S


Interested in attending university but need to upgrade your math?
The Edwards School of Business is providing a free offering of Foundations of Math 30.

Preference for acceptance into the class is for Indigenous students who are interested in applying to the Edwards School of Business but do not meet the math requirement. They encourage all interested students to contact our office for more information.

Duke of Edinburgh's International Award


This award empowers young people to discover hidden talents, develop untapped leadership potential, make a difference in their community and explore the wonders of the great outdoors.

The Award requires that young people set and acheive personal goals in activiteis they want to experience and develop. It recognizes milestones at bronze, silver and gold levels during which particpants complete challenges in the areas of: service, physical recreation, skill, adventurous journeying, and residential projects.

Campus visit events

CMU will be hosting students for Fall Open House on October 19 between 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

In addition to Fall Open House, there are scheduled Campus Visit Days, days to discover the Outtatown program, and an Open House for Music students.

Travel reimbursements are available for those coming from outside of Winnipeg.
