The Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship (SYA) Industry
Scholarship encourages Saskatchewan youth to complete the SYA Program
and enter into a career in a skilled trade within two years of high
school graduation. For 2011-2012, the number of $1000
scholarships to be awarded through participating Saskatchewan high
schools will increase from 40 to 80; that means more youth than
ever will benefit. A minimum of 20 scholarships will be awarded to SYA
graduates through internal SATCC processes. The increase in SYA Industry
Scholarships is made possible due to significant financial contributions
by the Government of Saskatchewan through the Saskatchewan Innovations and
Opportunity Scholarship Program.
Please note: To
be selected to nominate an SYA Industry Scholarship winner, SYA participating
high schools must submit participating high school student SYA contracts or
progress information to SATCC no later than January 13, 2012.
