Pre-Employment Hair Stylist 26 -Week Pre-employment Training

In 22 weeks program you'll learn and practice the hair stylist trade
during evening and weekend classes. This will be followed by a 4-week
practicum. In just 6 months, you'll be ready to work in this exciting
trade.
•Instructors teach from an industry standard as well as Pivot Point
curriculum and texts.
•Students will learn about the fundamentals of the hairstyling
profession.
•Program content will concentrate on haircutting and styling, with an
introduction to texturizing and colouring.
•Students will be given the opportunity to live the learning during
hands-on practice, labs and a 140 -hour practicum.
•Prior to practicum, students are equipped to challenge their first
year apprenticeship training exam.
•Following the practicum component of the program, successful students
will have the skills to join the workforce while completing the remaining
portion of the 1,400 hours of work experience required for the Alberta
Apprenticeship Board.
•High school students enrolled in the cosmetology program can build on
their skills by taking part in this evening and weekend program - meaning they
will gain exceptional training and experience and be ready to work soon after
graduation.
Schedule:
The first program session starts January 30, 2012 and ends July 28, 2012. Classes will be held during evenings and
weekends.
Requirements: Applicants must
have English Language 10-2 and Applied Math 10 or equivalent or pass an entrance exam and/or
interview.
