The Vancouver College of Art and Design is giving away $150 000 in scholarships to high school seniors this year.
The Vancouver College of Art and Design is the newest centre for Applied Arts education in British Columbia. The new VCAD campus will offer applied arts programs such as graphic design; interior design; 3D modelling, animation art and design; fashion design; marketing and merchandising for fashion.

National Young Leaders Conference
Envision EMI is a student leadership and development organization. This summer, Envision is bringing the National Young Leaders Conference to Toronto. Sessions are designed for students in grades 8,9,10 and 11. The theme of the conference is Courageous Leadership. Students will be working on core leadership tools - - Communication, Conflict Resolution, Decision Making, Goal Setting, Group Dynamics, Leadership Techniques, Project Planning and Self-Awareness.

SGI awards eight scholarships of $2500 each (four to university students and four to students in a technical institute)
To be eligible, as student must
-be a Saskatchewan resident
-be enrolled in a full-time certificate, degree or diploma program related to the business needs of SGI at an accredited post-secondary campus in Saskatchewan
-have obtained a 70% minimum average in last academic year of study
-demonstrate contribution to community, extracurricular activities or commitments made in balancing work, education and home responsibilities.

University of Alberta Rural Discovery Day
The Office of the Registrar and Student Awards at the University of Alberta will be hosting its bi-annual Rural Discovery Day at the North Campus in Edmonton on Friday, March 20, 2009. Our Discovery Day participants will have the chance to:
• Find out what they need to know about U of A’s undergraduate programs
• Discuss university life with current undergraduate students from other rural areas
• Receive information on the U of A’s awards and services
• Have a tour of the Lister Centre Residence and U of A North Campus
• Win great prizes, including U of A apparel
In addition to representatives from the Office of the Registrar and Student Awards, various representatives from many of our Faculties and Services will be on hand to answer questions and provide information on housing, scholarships, services and the many degree programs offered at the U of A. With over 200 undergraduate programs, 300 student groups, and a myriad of activities and service on campus, there is much for your students to discover about the U of A.
